Continuing Education at Tallinn Pedagogical University,
Estonia

Talinn Pedagogical University .
Talinn Pedagogical University is expanding
and developing its CE in accordance with its mission. This case
study describes the principles guiding this development in 2000-02,
and briefly explains the centres, departments and faculties which
provide UCE, the student numbers, the target groups for UCE and the
range of subjects. Since 1996 its Open University has been
developed, building on earlier experience of correspondence courses
but using modern communications technology. Dr Jõgi’s
case study also describes the development of evaluation of UCE both
as a process of self-analysis and as an instrument of cooperation
between Estonian universities. Further information is

Tallinn Pedagogical University is dedicated to
combining its long-established leadership roles in the educational,
social, humanitarian and physical sciences with a concerted effort
towards academic co-operation both nationally and internationally.
The Tallinn Pedagogical University (TPU) was founded in 1919 as the
Tallinn Teacher Training Seminary; today it is one of the biggest
universities in Estonia with over 6,500 students. The mission of
